Brookfield and Bloom Energy Expand AI Infrastructure Partnership to $25 Billion; Fivefold Increase to Build and Finance Rapid Power for AI Infrastructure

NEW YORK and SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Bloom Energy and Brookfield have announced a major expansion of their partnership focused on powering artificial intelligence infrastructure. The deal increases Brookfield's financing framework for power projects from the previously announced $5 billion to a new total of $25 billion, representing a fivefold increase since October 2025.

The expanded funding is intended to accelerate the deployment of Bloom Energy's fuel cell technology globally. The companies said the move responds to surging demand for reliable, on-site power needed to run energy-intensive AI data centers. Bloom's fuel cells generate electricity without combustion, offering a faster path to power than traditional grid connections, which can take years to build.

Brookfield's increased commitment will support the construction and financing of rapid power solutions for AI infrastructure across multiple regions. The partnership originally focused on deploying Bloom's solid oxide fuel cells to provide always-on electricity for data centers, which require stable power to operate high-performance computing clusters.

The announcement signals that the race to build AI capacity is driving unprecedented demand for alternative power sources. With grid interconnection delays and rising electricity needs, tech companies and energy firms are turning to modular, scalable power generation. Bloom Energy's technology can be sited directly at data centers, bypassing the need for new transmission lines.

Executives from both companies described the expanded partnership as a direct response to customer demand for speed and reliability. The $25 billion framework gives Bloom access to capital needed to scale manufacturing and deploy systems at a much larger scale than previously planned.
