Yahoo is pushing deeper into artificial intelligence with a fresh set of AI-powered features rolling out across its Yahoo Finance and Yahoo Sports platforms. The company is betting that generative AI can help users cut through noise and get faster, more personalized insights.
For Yahoo Finance, the new tools include AI-generated summaries of earnings calls, market trends, and company reports. Instead of reading through long transcripts or scrolling through dense data, users will see concise breakdowns pulled together by the AI. The system is also designed to answer natural language questions about stock performance or sector movements, making it easier for casual investors to get the information they want without digging through multiple tabs.
On the sports side, Yahoo is using AI to deliver real-time game recaps and fantasy football analysis. The AI will generate short summaries of key plays, player stats, and momentum shifts as games unfold. For fantasy sports users, the tool can offer lineup suggestions based on injury updates, matchups, and recent performance trends. Yahoo is also testing a feature that lets users ask questions like "Who should I start this week?" and get a tailored response.
The move comes as media and tech companies race to integrate AI into everyday products. Yahoo says these features are meant to save time and make complex information more accessible, not replace human analysts or writers. The updates are rolling out gradually, with a full launch expected in the coming weeks.
