MP Materials (MP): 10 Most Promising Mid-Cap Stocks to Buy According to Analysts

MP Materials Corp. (NYSE:MP) has been named one of the 10 most promising mid-cap stocks to buy according to current analyst ratings. The rare earth mining company recently posted its financial and operational results for the first quarter of 2026, showing strong momentum in its core business.

On May 7, MP Materials reported record production and sales of neodymium-praseodymium, also known as NdPr. This material is a key component in the manufacturing of high-strength permanent magnets used in electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defense systems. The company said it saw continued growth across its rare earth operations during the quarter.

MP Materials generated $132.9 million in consolidated revenue for the first quarter. The company also reported progress under its production payment agreement, or PPA, which helps fund its downstream processing operations. The results reflect the company's strategy of moving beyond mining and into full-scale magnet production within the United States.

Analysts have pointed to MP Materials as a strong mid-cap play due to its position in the critical minerals supply chain. As demand for rare earth elements grows, especially from the EV and clean energy sectors, the company is seen as a key domestic supplier. Its ability to produce separated rare earth oxides and finished magnets gives it an edge over competitors that only mine raw materials.

The stock remains a focus for investors looking for exposure to the rare earth market without the volatility of smaller exploration companies.
